My Favourite and Bouquet of the Week: yellow and white elegant wedding
A slight change for this week’s posts as I am, like you I’m sure, gearing up for the busy Holiday season.
I am combining this week’s My Favourite Monday post with the Bouquet of the Week in this gorgeous yellow and white wedding photo I found from Choco Studio .
Yellow is a very popular colour for weddings of all styles, but as you know my penchant for modern, yet timeless weddings, I was immediately drawn to this photo for the swoon-worthy, lush bouquet with the prettiest soft yellow roses ever and cute yellow heels. Bonus points to this bride who coordinated everything with the roses on her wedding dress seen in the background.
I hope this triggers some ideas for all of you brides that love yellow!
Happy planning,

My Favourite Monday: chignon wedding hairstyles
Although I know that “updo” hairstyles for weddings are not suitable for everyone, I can’t help but love the classic, upswept hairstyle for brides.
Bridal hair has come a long way since the very tightly wound curls and “prom”-y styles. My favourite modern wedding hairstyles include the classic bun, or chignon, because of its elegance, versatility and the way it shows off the graceful lines of a woman’s neck.
Chignons can be placed higher on the head, right at the nape of the neck, or on the side of the head. Whether you style them messily for a more relaxed look, or pull them smoothly against the head for maximum glamour (I love it with a brooch or sparkly hair pin), chignons are the picture of sophisticated wedding hairstyle.

My Favourite Monday: peach wedding dress
While full-sleeve tattoos are not for everybody, you cannot tell me that this rock and roll bride’s peach wedding dress isn’t to die for!
From the soft and pretty colour, to the va-va-voom silouhette and huge tulle skirt, this fun dress is the perfect example that weddings are very personal — you just can’t compare your wedding to someone else’s because there is no one like you!
This couple is obviously not very traditional, and although their style may not be suited to everyone’s taste, it is evident how happy they are to be celebrating their love with their own unique spin on traditions…and that is what a wedding is really all about, isn’t it?

My Favourite Monday: green and white, preppy bridesmaid dresses
Good morning and Good Monday to you!
For this week’s My Favourite Monday, I have this great photo of suuuuuper cute, modern green and white striped bridesmaids dresses and a fun and flirty, short wedding dress #2 from Ritzy Bee.
This photo is from a styled wedding photo shoot featured in Southern Weddings Magazine, and I just love the preppy, elegant feel of the whole concept for a spring outdoor wedding.
While the bridesmaids’ dresses are a little more casual, the look is balanced by their formal, upswept hair. This is a very smart styling trick that you should try adopting if your bridesmaid dresses are simpler but you still want that formality to your wedding.
The pleated and striped skirts are too fun — now these are some bridesmaid dresses that you really could wear again for a fun, spring event.
Please note that I do notknow the designer and make of these dresses. Many of readers have contacted me for the info about this shoot, and I suggest you contact Southern Weddings Magazine for the info on this styled shoot. Thanks!
My Favourite Monday: cityscape wedding
What is there to say about this week’s My Favourite Monday photo?
Wow.
Stunning.
Breathtaking.
This photo embodies the super chic, elegant city weddings that I love, and I cannot even believe what a gorgeous backdrop the Chicago skyline makes! The best part of this photo has to be the levels in its composition of sand, sidewalk, sea and city. Truly amazing.

Happy Monday,

My Favourite Monday: Bridal Runway Fall 2012 – short, sexy, black
I really admire bridal designers because they must struggle sometimes to keep re-inventing the “bridal” look. With bridal, it is not like you can stray too far away from the more typical formula as there is usually a certain style or feeling associated with wedding dresses and bridal fashion, in general.
The Fall 2012 collection, however, definitely brought some interest and spice to the designers’ work. There was plenty of short dresses, sexy dresses and even black (!) dresses seen on the catwalk. Romona Keveza had several short, but no less elaborate, dresses in her body of work and Monique Lhullier, usually associated with very feminine and romantic dresses, sent this slinky, slit up-to-there gown on her model. Vera Wang had everyone buzzing by showing 7 black dresses in her collection.
I chose these dresses for My Favourite Monday because I am intrigued by these risks taken by designers. I love the idea of the short dress for a less traditional bride and ceremony. The slit dress doesn’t actually shock me. I just associate it with a sexy bride who is more Red Carpet than White Carpet. I like the black gowns and their designs for a rock and roll, edgier bride, but I do love my lighter colour dresses…What are your thoughts on these more risqué choices by designers?
