Hold on to those bouquets, ladies, because Gypsophila, commonly known as “Baby’s Breath” flowers are swinging back into trend! While the mere name brings to mind dated bouquets from the 80s and 90s, baby’s breath is being revitalized as a lovely option for ethereal, delicate and lace-y floral decor.
The trick to pulling off the baby’s breath florals in your wedding or event is to gather large bunches of these dainty flowers and let them shine on their own or, at most, pairing them with a monochromatic, similar sized flower. Adding brightly coloured or large flowers only distract from baby’s breath natural beauty and can send your decor right down 80s memory lane instead of exuding a classic, timeless look. Here are some photos for inspiration:

Real Simple has a great DIY option for their bouquet of baby’s breath:

For centrepieces, consider using several vases of baby’s breath bunches for maximum dreamy impact like in this photo from Pacific Weddings…love the chain of flowers!

…or pair the baby’s breath arrangement with vases of anemones and hydrangeas seen in this photo from The Bride’s Cafe via Get Married magazine’s blog:

And swoon at these gorgeous photos from Leigh Miller Photography and Stephanie Williams (via Ruffled blog)! These are fabulous examples of making an inexpensive flower look absolutely luxe.
